About Us
A short history
We opened our doors in 2006 with a simple mission: to bring truly exceptional coffee and espresso to Midcoast Maine in a timeless yet modern coffeehouse setting. From day one, our labor of love has been supporting local businesses and farms, making earth-friendly choices, and above all, promoting friendship, community, and human connection. In 2021, we moved into our permanent home in the heart of Camden, just a block from our original storefront. Five year later, longtime employee Isabel Crane (left) purchased Zoot from founder Sondra Hamilton (right), continuing its legacy and shepherding the business into its next chapter. The photo above was taken in 2016, after Isabel's second summer as a member of the Zoot team.
Our Community
The best moments at Zoot happen over great coffee, warm scones, fresh orange juice, and seriously tasty butter-and-jam toast, shared in the company of friends, neighbors, and strangers from near and far.
